
Before he was elected into the Senate in November 2013, late Senator Jikong Stephen was technical adviser for seven years at the Ministry of public service from 1992-1994
He was later appointed technical adviser at the Prime Minister’s office 1996-2012.
Professor JIKONG retired as English lecturer in 2008 after having served in the University of Yaounde 1.
He served as a board member of State corporations including SCDP, ENAM, INJS, and recently CRTV.
He was also traditional ruler of his native Jato Gwembo Village.
Professor Jikong Stephen Yerima was born on 2nd February 1945 in Mbem Village of the Nwa Sub-Division, Donga-Mantung Division of the North West Region.
He died leaving behind a wife, children and grandchildren to mourn him.
